Unlike many trainers, fitness and nutrition has not always been a part of my life…My sports and workouts were strictly in high school gym class and I even failed at that. As a teenager I couldn’t even run a across the street let alone a block or two. I was always unhealthy, when I was a teenager I was “skinny fat” and when I became pregnant after my first I became over weight.

When I turned 30 I was told I had to have a hysterectomy and it was horrifying, I felt like I was so young and had to give up my women hood. I was depressed and on many, many different types of anti-depressants and sleeping pills. I could not figure out why such a thing was happening to me, but I also knew this was happening for a good reason; I was unhealthy, over weight and really didn’t put any effort into looking after myself. If I was doing this to myself what was I showing my girls? So I made a promise to myself that after my surgery I was going to clean up my act and become a better role model for myself and my children.

Through friends, countless fitness magazines, Tosco Reno, and the internet I started to understand the benefits of clean eating, proper nutrition and the benefits of exercise, I was seeing it all on a different level. I started yoga, joined a boot camp and then started noticing some weight loss, toning up, less stress and frustration, energy to make it through the day and now had the ability to even run a block and ride a bike with my kids. Not only did I discover this was good for my body, but it was great for the mind as well. Armed with my new found energy and passion I decided I wanted to pursue a career in fitness, personal training and helping others with proper nutrition. I also decided to take my fitness to a whole new level in June 2013 I competed in my first ever fitness competition, it was an amazing journey that really motivated me even more to help people realize that you only live once so enjoy it on all levels.

I am so grateful to have the ability to share the advantage of exercise and nutrition with others and become a positive role model. This is one of the best decisions I have ever made-helping others reach their goals and expanding my knowledge of fitness and nutrition is incredibly rewarding to me. I learn so much from people as they do from me. Meeting new people and trying new things is helping me grow into a stronger, more positive, motivated and determined individual. I love to think outside the box and try new exercises to keep challenging my limits and those limits for others. I look forward to training and helping people lead healthier, happier lives, I love to educate people on the importance of food and it’s not for comfort but for fueling our bodies and keeping them alive and well
