Hi, my name is Brooke and I’m a 3000 Hour Registered Massage Therapist, Access the Bars, and Reiki Practitioner.  I am currently attending Makami College’s 3000 Hour Massage Therapy Program in Edmonton, with a graduation date set for the end of November 2016.

Building relationships with my clients has given me some insight into their lives, which has made me reflect on my own life and why I have chosen the path of massage therapy.

The first experience I ever had with massage was when I was in junior high.  Excruciating stomach pain and continuous nausea led to many doctor and specialist appointments with no results.  After missing most of the school year, I turned to the alternative/holistic health route.

It was discovered, through massage therapy, that I had a slight curvature in my spine that threw my entire body out of alignment.  By persistently getting a massage every few weeks, my body shifted back to where it needed to be and I left the stomach pain and nausea behind, along with junior high, and moved on to senior high.

I had always put crazy amounts of pressure on myself to do well in school to the point of making myself sick from worry.  Like many students, I had anxiety.  I turned to massage for a way to relax and get my body to unwind after sitting for hours with terrible posture, hunched over books.

I discovered that massage therapy was a way to ease my anxiety and soon found other forms of energy work that did wonders along with massage.  I now offer energy work to others as I have taken training for Access Bars (Access Consciousness) and Usui Reiki Level 1 and 2 (Sundra Healing).

To this day, I love getting regular massages and tune-ups from energy work as way of self-care for my whole well-being.  I have chosen massage therapy and energy work as a way to help others, as I strongly feel it helped me.

I look forward to working with clients and to help start their healing process based on each individual’s goals and needs.
